Mid-Ohio Utilities, LLC has been providing directional boring services to the utility industries since 2017. The company was founded with the idea of offering boring services within a centralized area in Ohio. It soon became clear that customers wanted the company to expand operations from that of a local area to that of a regional area or even to neighboring states.
The implementation and integrity of your project is our top priority to our team members. When a crew arrives at your location, you can be certain that they are experienced, trained and prepared to make your project expectations become reality.
The company was founded by Ethan Beard who continues to be an active owner/operator today. Over the years, Ethan has grown this operation into a regional enterprise that can meet its clients’ needs on a variety of levels.

Horizontal Directional Drilling or HDD is a trenchless technology that allows a customer to solve their underground utility job without an open trench cut. It is safer, faster, more cost effective and requires minimal disruption compared to other forms of underground utility installation. With our drills, we bore into the ground and navigate the rods using our drill head locators to create the hole where the pipe will lay. Once we reach the other end of the hook up, we pull the pipe back through the hole. We can either hook up the pipe or you can. This is entirely up to you.
